The watercolor course is dedicated to beginners. In each class, we learn specific working technique and we practice the use of various additives and auxiliary materials. In the three hours given to each class, learners work by model or image, depending on the theme, and go through different approaches. The course offers notions of: perspective, space view, observation and work by nature, composition, color, texture, shadow and light.

Oct 24 – Introduction to watercolor technique, presentation of different materials and methods of work used to achieve different effects. Students will apply the theory taught in color and texture samples, exercising their talent and testing the presented materials. Then we will learn the basics of light and shadow and practice simple geometric objects in the painting, observing the optimal combinations of colors and the way of drawing the accents.
Oct 31 – The first exercise is the landscape, where we will experience “wet-wet” work. We learn to create technical effects in a exercise (clouds painting).
Nov 7 – The second exercise is botanical painting, where we learn to work in detail, faithfully rendering the pattern. We work in overlapping layers, we learn to mix and overlap shades and tones to create realistic effects.
Nov 14 – The third exercise is a static composition. We learn to reproduce materials, textures and the specific shadow-light effects. Also, in this exercise, we learn to work a background to enhance the painted pattern.
Nov 21 – The fourth exercise is architecture. We learn the basic concepts of perspective and render the picture for a street perspective where we practice both space vision and work in similar intensity, contrastless colors.
