Our workshop teaches botanical illustration from general to detail, and from the naturalist drawing and watercolor, towards stylisation and transfer to oil painting. Saturday is dedicated to pencils and watercolor, as techniques of realistic depiction, therefore an exercise of observation, and discovery of the absolute geometry of plants, while identifying details and miniature textures. At the end of the day, each student will frame his/her favorite painting, achieved during the two sessions of painting. Sunday we learn how to stylize the drawing and how to paint in oil, focusing on a more abstract representation, further away from the original model, and enriched with the unique emotion of its creator.
